Food at Huish Moor
Angi prides herself on cooking using the highest quality local ingredients wherever possible. Home grown soft fruit and vegetables
are served to Huish Moor B&B guests when in season.
Cream Tea On Arrival
Home made Scones and jam with clotted cream served with a pot of tea
Huish Moor Breakfasts:
Fresh fruit, local muesli, cornflakes, prunes, yogurt, toast or croissant with home made jam and marmalade as well as local honey
are always available.
A choice of either a full English, smoked salmon and scrambled egg, local Kippers, or any type of egg cooked to your liking.
The sausages and bacon are from traditionally reared pigs, and come from local farms.
The Kippers come from the Dartmouth Smokehouse, (www.dartmouthsmokehouse.co.uk), where the herridorngs are cured & naturally
cold smoked over oak - they taste wonderful! and are quite a size!
Eggs come from hens just down the road from Huish Moor. The hens all have individual names and are truly free range their
yokes are a deep yellow/orange and really have flavour.
Honey clear rich dark runny honey from Bees that choose their pollen from the wealth of local wild flowers.
Marmalade and Jams Angi makes her own marmalade and jams often from fruit out of the garden.
Muesli. This comes from the neighbouring county of Dorset, www.dorset-cereals.co.uk), and is made up of the best ingredients
with no added sugar but plenty of fruit, nuts and seeds.
Farmhouse Evening Meals
Angi uses as many fresh local ingredients as possible and will cater for any special dietary requirements. She will cook for her
guests given advance notice, however not on every night of the week.
Some sample menus
Sample Main courses:
- Pheasant cooked with apples thyme and a splash of cream.
- Seared Duck breasts with Cranberry Jus.
- Chicken thighs glazed with honey, lime and soya sauce with a hint of ginger.
- Puff pastry shells filled with catch of the day fish and fresh herbs
- Smoked Haddock roulade
- Venison braised in red wine with shallots and mushrooms.
- Elizabethan Pork aromatically braised with apricots
- Homemade Venison burgers in a consommés sauce
All the above are served with a choice of local vegetables that where possible come from the Huish Moor garden.
Pheasant and Venison both are from a local estate and are of the highest quality.
Fish Sea Trout and Salmon are rod and line caught by Tim. Sea fish caught by our local fisherman Brian from his boat in
nearby coastal waters. Any smoked fish comes from the Dartmouth Smoke House as breakfast Kippers.
Meat: Angi uses only locally reared meat whenever possible.

Most of the soft fruit has been grown in the Huish Moor garden or come from our local Farmers Market.
